Q-Tip Skeleton

     Time to share another fun Halloween themed craft I did with the kids this week. Lindsay helped me out with this project since she was home on Fall Break. All you need for this art work is glue, q-tips, construction paper, and a white crayon (though probably not necessary for older children)

 Since we are working with younger kids, We made an outline of the body for the kids to place their q-tips on. Next we painted on a light layer of glue over the outline.

 Working on the fingers apparently required some major concentration .

JT even was counting his fingers- here he was on "four".

 After the bones were all in place, it was time to draw the face on the skeleton. 

 We helped Ella and Mason a bit to give them eyes and a mouth. They each put their finishing touches on it though.

 JT can make a good face, but it does it over and over. Ended up with several eyes and smiles on his one face ;)

Fall Football

     The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, fantastic, wonderful this week! Lots of afternoons spent playing outside celebrating this time of year. Did I mention how beautiful it's been? ;)

It can't get more perfect than this! Leaves changing, slight breeze, warm afternoons, crisp mornings, and puffy clouds to dot the sky.

JT decided that is was the perfect day to play some football.

Then Finn and JT stated facing off, running towards each other, and tackling one another.

The boys were all smiles doing this over and over.

When they were finished, they gave each other a high 5. Loved it!

Bed Head Remedy

     Today's post is several different days of photos all put together to tell a nice little story as if it were all in the same day. Just play along with me and pretend.

On the days I take the girls to school, I wake JT up and carry him to the van. This particular morning, he had a BAD case of bed head! He clearly slept on the left side of his body and had a little party.

In order to get rid of that bed head, JT took a shower. On days when there is a little chill, I'll bring out the blow dryer to help dry his hair. On this day, JT asked to "do it myself" He was quite proud of his accomplishment.

JT's super awesome, glow in the dark skeleton PJ's. Even JT gets creeped out a bit when we go to put them on, but thankfully he gets over it once they are on.

Then, most nights after JT is all clean and cozy in his PJ's, he will pull a blanket over to me and request some cuddles. Something I never turn down. I love to cuddle with my little man. After this, JT is ready to start the bed head routine all over again.

Surprise from Daddy

     John has been travelling quite a bit lately for his work. Thankfully, we are in the home stretch of this block of travel and he will be home every night very soon. A few weeks ago, John was going to be out of town for a 2 week stretch. He decided to keep us busy while he was gone and mailed a surprise to us!

This is the photo I sent John when I received our surprise in the mail. Tickets to Disney on Ice! I decided to keep the secret for a few more days especially for JT. I thought if I explained we were going to see Mickey Mouse, he might expect to see the Magic Castle as he calls it.

The day of the event arrived and I had all the kids put on their Disney shirts. JT noticed that Lindsay and I  had on Minnie Mouse while he had on his Mickey, Donald, and Goofy shirt. The girls were told where we were going a few days prior.

John scored some awesome tickets! We were about 8 rows off the ice at the upper corner.

     It was a great show that lasted about 2 hours. There were 4 movies that were highlighted. The entire story of each movie was fully told in their performances. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were the hosts of the show and made appearances.

At the intermission, we bought some popcorn that cost just $2 less than 1 ticket for the show. Got to love those Disney prices-LOL!

JT had such a wonderful time!

All of us had such a great time and it was so much fun! Thank you to John for thinking of us and keeping us busy while you are working so hard. We love you!
