This past weekend we celebrated Father's Day. It was a bit choppy due to work schedules, but we did our best to honor John and all he does for the Apedaile6 crew.
We started our celebration with going to a movie. John selected the new release, How to Train Your Dragon 2. We missed Sarah, who was hard at work most of that day. We all loved the movie and JT is now very enthusiastic about all things dragons.
Afterward, we headed home and I made what John requested- sub sandwiches and some homemade macaroni salad. We ate outside on the deck and then went swimming for a while. When Sarah was off for the night, all of the kids presented their gifts to John.
Lindsay made a Pinterest inspired gift. She often will call John "Pops" when being playful. When she saw this "World's Greatest Pop", she knew she needed to make this for John.
It contained a variety of "pop" things- popcorn, Pop Tart, Ring pop.... You get the idea.
Courtney bought John this adorable Bruce mug from the Disney store. Bruce, from Finding Nemo, is one of John's favorite characters from all of the Disney movies we watch.
JT also made something I found on Pinterest. This is the card attached to the jar.
The jar was filled with Hugs and Kisses.
Sarah made a homemade card which included a gift card to Starbucks.
The legacy a father leaves on his children...
From outdoor adventures
to major birthday celebrations
John has always been there to hold his children's hand along their paths.
He even manages to keep things humorous every step of the way.
We'll finish this post with JT's interview about his Daddy.
We love you John and words can't express how thankful I am to have you lead our family, love us, and be the perfect Daddy to our four children.
